Valentine's Day Featured Recipe

Impress your loved one this Valentine’s Day with a romantic dessert from Primehouse. Serve with a glass of bubbly or your special someone’s favorite cocktail.

Strawberry Mousse with Roasted Strawberries

Strawberry Mousse

Ingredients:
1 cup strawberry puree
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 cup cream – Part 1
2 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup cream – Part 2
A few drops red food coloring

Directions:

Part 1 Mix together the puree and lemon juice, set aside. Partially melt the white chocolate. Simmer smaller amount of cream with the powdered sugar until dissolved. Pour over the white chocolate, whisk until combined. Whisk in the puree. Let chill in refrigerator while completing Part 2.

Part 2 Whisk the larger amount of the cream until soft peaks form and fold gently into the chilled strawberry mixture with a few drops of red food coloring. Pour mousse into individual serving dishes. Let chill in refrigerator to set up.

Roasted Strawberries

Ingredients:
8 oz strawberries
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon butter

Cut tops off strawberries, cut into quarters. Toss with sugar in small pan, add butter. Bake at 325ºF for 5 minutes. Let cool to room temperature. Spoon over the chilled strawberry mousse. Optional: Garnish with chocolate curls or chocolate sauce.
